Book Page #4: Palm Trees and Day Dreams
The worst was saved for last. Not too happy with this PAINTING. Might be being a bit of a pessimist but even i think i can do better work than this although i do felt like i tried and put effort into it. The sun didn't turn out horrible and neither did the sky, i think the colors of these needed to be blended a bit better but the texture aspect is great. The palm tree, the main point of focus, could have had a more lively feel and a bit more detailed.
Book Page #3: The Hunters Cannon
My favorite of the four pages, one reason because its in marker and not painted which means its hopefully decent and two just because i think its a good looking picture. This ones of a gun, 'hunters cannon', and i threw a really cool perspective on this as you look down the barrel of the gun with a nice brick background for added texture and effect.
Book Page #2: Mask
My second book page, which would have been my favorite if i didn't cover up words on accident while i was painting. Luckily i still made the message work, somewhat, and the painting turned out better than expected. i really displayed dominance on this piece and contrast with a black background and i also think i displayed my message very well in this one.
Book Page #1: Laughing Sun
This is the first out of my four book pages that i created which i did with colored pencils. Not my favorite but it didn't turn out bad. obvious dominance displayed and i think i displayed the words that are boxed very well and symbolically with the picture. it says "with impaired sight patches of sunshine laughed sharply as he said that was murder."

Monoprint: Swaggie
This piece of art was a requirement that went with the block print project and was a very fun and interesting new way of art for me. I decided to just have a little fun with this project as sort of an experiment for my first time. I drew out the words swaggie, a request from another peer, and decided to print it on as my monoprint. It was more difficult then I thought it would be and didn't turn out quite as clean as i wanted it too but it was nothing to really complain about. I ended up fixing up the spots left around from the original printing by sponging other colors which added a cool effect to the project. This project was a nice experience and I can say I'm satisfied with it.
Block Print: Steel Pulse
This turned out to be my favorite project so far and I'm very satisfied with the outcome considering the time and effort i took to create this artwork. My block print says "Steel Pulse" which refers to a reggae band which i grew up listening to in my household as a child and still to this day. Listening to their music and working on this project brings back many memories and I'm so happy that it turned out so well. Carving the print took me almost 2 weeks of class and finding and creating the perfect blend of colors for each print was quite entertaining yet tedious at times.
Free Painting Project
While Art 1-2 had to do a two point perspective house for a project art 3-8 was assigned a free choice project. My painting consisted of a strange looking owl poached on a branch with abstract shapes throughout the picture. I was happy with the idea and somewhat happy with the finished version. I feel as if i did a nice job with displaying some principles of art with my contrast of the background and the rest of the picture, emphasizing dominance of the figures within the picture. Painting still isn't my cup of tea and it isn't my first choice of coloring but i can only practice and hope to get better.
